OVNITUR appears in 1987 with its registered office in the oldest village in Portugal - Ponte de Lima - and a branch in Viana do Castelo.
It was acquired by Águeda and Francisco Oliveira in 1998 and had two travel agencies.
Preserving the status of travel agency from its genesis to the present, we offer a wide range of tourist services, from vacation packages, flights, hotels, cruises, rent-a-car, transfers ... Our travel agents are always prepared and willing to help you choose the best holiday destination, the cheapest flight or organize that motivational trip for your employees.
Despite the success of Travel Agencies over the last two decades, Management has increasingly bet on the bus transportation sector, having developed a solid work based on professionalism and quality in service delivery, prioritizing satisfaction of our passengers and customers.
This growth and national and international recognition made it imperative to open a branch in Lisbon (2010) and to create its own infrastructure designed to accommodate the entire backoffice of public passenger transport, as well as a workshop equipped at the highest level, prepared to lend owed its assistance to the fleet, and in 2017 the new headquarters / business center in Nogueira, Viana do Castelo, was born. With a strategic location next to the A27, the new headquarters is linked to the rest of the country with easy access to the A28 (Porto) and A3 (Porto, Braga, Valença and Galicia), facilitating in this way the movement of our vehicles for the most varied destinations.
Our fleet consists of about 100 buses with capacities between 8 and 72 places with a current average age of 6.8 years, with characteristics of urban, interurban, tourism and long-distance tourism and even panoramic buses and tourist trains.
All of our vehicles excel in quality, most of them equipped with all the latest technology and safety and comfort systems. In addition, due to the fact that most of them are mechanically and aesthetically prepared for the tourism and long-distance routes, they are also equipped with 2 and 3-point belts, WIFI, USB plugs and GPS system. Some also have toilets and, in the urban and tourism categories, lift platforms that facilitate access to passengers with reduced mobility.
We try to excel in the modernity and monitoring of the times, but always with the focus on the customer and their safety.
Proof of this is that as a company we are fully equipped for the collective transportation of children, and our vehicles are equipped with booster seats, complying with all the requirements contained in Law 13/2006 of April 17, 2009. As well as signage in the compulsory use of the seat belt, and drivers are instructed at the beginning of each trip to inform passengers of this safety rule.
As an expanding company and an inspiration for many, we recognize our share of social and environmental responsibility and therefore we promote sustainable development by acquiring vehicles that comply with European regulations on the emission of gaseous pollutants (EURO VI).
However, it is not enough that only material resources are prepared to combat the environmental scourges that are present and therefore, OVNITUR bets heavily on the training, awareness and awareness of its employees, especially drivers, to the importance and practice of economic, safe and environmentally friendly.
Because we recognize the importance of training our employees, we develop annual external and internal training courses, from tachographs handling, to customer service, and also through the recognition of products and sales techniques. This is how we have a large team of qualified professionals able to serve our customers with promptness and professionalism.
It is in Human Resources that we bet because we know that they are the main drivers of our success through the work that they develop daily in the most varied areas.
